Presentación de la revista de historietas UHAMPA en la Feria del libro de Mar del Plata

Será el lunes 14 de noviembre a las 18 hs en la sala "Biblioteca Popular Juventud Moderna" dentro de la carpa de la Plaza Mitre (Brown y Mitre).
UHAMPA es la revista de la Unión de Historietistas Autónomos de Mar del Plata y Alrededores: un grupo de dibujantes y guionistas reunidos con el fin de alumbrar un espacio de producción y publicación conjuntas.
"La revista UHAMPA intenta fortalecer la creación, realización y edición de historietas en Mar del Plata, promoviendo su lectura en la comunidad.
Considerando a la ciudad de Mar del Plata como nuestro entorno, decidimos tomar nuestra propia mitología para recrearla en historietas que nos sean propias, para poder leer y leernos en nuestras páginas, y para dejar de ser solo testigos de una historia que teje y ampara nuestra identidad desde lo fundacional hacia el futuro. Transitando géneros y estilos diversos, y sin dejar de alimentarse tanto de la tradición de la historieta nacional, como de su creciente panorama actual, UHAMPA pretende desarrollar producciones comprometidas con una búsqueda artística genuina y original."
El nacimiento de UHAMPA se vincula con el periódico cultural CP7612, de Estación Camet de la ciudad de Mar del Plata, Argentina.

A partir de septiembre estaremos realizando junto a Esteban Sterle, Humberto Miranda, Santiago Maissonave, Germán Genga, Valentín Lerena, Chester Greenbag y otros dibujantes, guionistas y gestores una revista mensual de historietas con temática marplatense/regional, llamada UHAMPA Viene junto al diario cultural CP7612 y es gratuito.
Para los que no lo puedan conseguir en papel pueden leer el PDF o en e-book que se sube mensualmente al grupo de FB de CP 7612. Tambien pueden agregarse al grupo de UHAMPA en FB para estar al tanto de las novedades.

tiempo atrás hicimos una muestra para una historieta europea de "línea clara" (a lo Asterix o Tin Tin) con mi amigo Valentin Lerena. la prueba consistía en dibujar el célebre "Rainbow Orchid" de Garen Ewin. dibujo y color hechos por mí, entintado por Valentín Lerena.

Time Ago We did a sample for a "ligne claire" comic (like Asterix or Tin Tin) with my friend Valentin Lerena. We had to draw Garen Ewin´s well-known "Rainbow Orchid" as a trial sample. pencil & colors by me, inks by Valentín Lerena.

Hace casi un año colaboré dibujando parte de un libro infantil islandés con personajes infantiles conocidos de ese pais, Skoppa & Skrítla.
Lo aún más interesante fue tener que aprender sobre su cultura y sobre... Dinamarca! es un libro donde las protagonistas conocen países europeos mientras realizan su aventura en búsqueda de los colores robados.
Así fue que me enteré del Legoland de Dinamarca, el parque de diversiones Tivoli, la estatua de la sirena, museos, paseos, etc. La historia y los juegos están escritos por Huginn Thor Gretarsson
Fue una experiencia breve pero muy enriquecedora,

Almost a year ago I drew part of an icelandic children book, with well-known characters of this country, Skoppa & Skrítla. The more interesting part that I had to learn about its culture and... Denmark!
the book´s about an European travel of the characters and their adventure to find the stolen colors. That´s how I discovered Denmark´s Legoland, Tivoli theme park, the Mermaid Statue, museums, walk paths, etc. the story and games are written by Huginn Thor Gretarsson it was a short but great experience!

"I've read the first three issues of The New Mankind, and must say that I really enjoyed them. The art is pretty solid, the colouring vibrant and the story very interesting, and it has me hooked. I really want to pick up issue 4 to find out just what the heck is going on. To me that's the sign of a good comic, and the only thing that really counts when it comes down to it. Getting your readers to want to read more is the most important thing to do with a comic. Yours certainly does that."

"The New Mankind" creative process - proceso creativo

This is how Aaron and Pablo make this comic possible: it starts with the Aaron´s script,
then goes to the artist who draws sketches, then ink, then color and lettering in this order.
Here we see the creative process for Clock part3, page 1. and the general guidelines as well.

Asi es cómo Aaron y yo hacemos posible este comic: Aaron comienza con el guión, luego me lo pasa y hago los lápices, tinta, color y letreado en ese orden.

New year, new perspective.

Con el año nuevo se vienen deseos nuevos. Luego de estar dibujando de forma digital por años he retomado la idea de volver al papel, en proyectos que (yo crea que) lo requieran.
Con Valentín Lerena hemos retomado las historias del Cuis. veremos cómo continua.
en este caso el dibujo está hecho a pincel con tinta, un placer artístico lejos de mi wacom.

New Year comes with new wishes. After being doing digital artwork for years I resumed my desire of returning to draw on paper, for specific projects that (I think) it requires it.
With Valentin Lerena we also resumed "Cuis" stories. Let´s see how far we go with it.
in this opportunity the drawing is done with brush and ink, an artistic pleasure away from my wacom.
